This gallery contains a small selection of photos I shot between 2013 and 2015 while volunteering at the Toronto Wildlife Centre (TWC). TWC is Canada’s busiest wildlife centre, handling over 30,000 calls each year from members of the public and organizations, and admitting approximately 5,000 sick, injured or orphaned wild animals each year. The TWC is an organization made up of hardworking, skilled veterinary professionals, veterinary students and volunteers working on the frontlines of wildlife rescue and rehabilitation in the Greater Toronto area. My work documenting the centre bears witness to our often ambivalent relationship with our wild neighbours and the tragic consequences for animals as a result of our impact on their habitats and ecosystems.
