Re:New Magazine—Renewing an alumni magazine for one of U of T’s youngest (and largest) colleges

Founded in 1962, New College is a distinguished constituent college of the University of Toronto. In 2016, Acme embarked on a transformative journey to redesign Re:New, the college’s flagship alumni magazine. This initiative aimed to modernize the magazine’s visual identity and editorial approach to better engage and inform its diverse alumni community. Acme executed a comprehensive redesign strategy that revitalized Re:New magazine into a contemporary and visually compelling publication. I designed and art directed three issues with themes varying from food equity to entrepreneurship, and undertook most of the editorial photography—including location portraiture and photo illustration (a photo essay on New’s rooftop apiary was a highlight!) I also built a website for the magazine featuring core articles from the current print version and an archive of back issues.
